MBI:TAC Assessment

Teaching competency assessed using the Mindfulness-Based Interventions: Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI:TAC), developed by Dr. Rebecca Crane at Bangor University's Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice.

Steve Haberlin Ph.D. studies the intersection of meditation, mindfulness, and emerging technology in higher education. With nearly three decades of personal practice and extensive published research, his work bridges ancient contemplative traditions with modern technological realities.

Mindfulness Researcher & App Developer

MA in Mindfulness Studies, Lesley University

Jeremy works at the intersection of mindfulness, technology, and human decision making. He developed Alaya Insight, an AI tool that evaluates meditation apps on their pedagogical grounding using the MBI:TAC framework. His research explored how mindfulness is translated into digital products, and where those products align with or drift from the core principles of practice. He completed his MA at Lesley University focusing on how popular mindfulness apps measure against established pedagogical standards.
